Green Mango Essence Candy: Easy and Simple!

As a fellow sweet tooth, here’s a free tip: having candies stored comes in handy when your cravings hit. If candies can be prepared at home, that too so easily, then it’s definitely a recipe you must try!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar

  • ½ cup water

  • 1 tsp James Green Mango Essence

  • 2–3 drops green food coloring (optional)

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. We will begin by preparing the tray. Lightly grease a plate or tray, or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Next, we will cook the syrup. In a saucepan, add one cup sugar and half cup water. Stir the mixture on medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.

  3. Now, add lemon juice, it helps in preventing the crystallization of the syrup. Add your James Green Mango Essence and the optional food coloring. One advantage of James essences is that the essence does not lose its flavour under temperature changes.

  4. We will let the mixture boil without stirring until it reaches 150°C (300°F) or until a drop of syrup in cold water hardens immediately. Take a spoon with an insulated handle for this purpose. Keep checking using this process once in a while.

  5. Once the drops begin to harden in the above process, pour the mixture carefully onto the prepared tray. Let it cool slightly, then cut into squares or shapes using a knife before it hardens completely.

  6. Let the dough harden fully, then break the pieces apart. Dust the candies with powdered sugar, as it prevents them from sticking to each other. Store them in an airtight container.

Now, Green Mango is not the only flavour which makes awesome candies. Pineapple, Butterscotch and Litchi are some flavours which you should never miss! Also please wear some gloves and aprons, or wrap some hard cloth while holding the saucepan. Sugar syrup has a bad reputation for leaving nasty burns! Don’t forget to leave some candies for your loved ones too!
